Do you qualify for FREE Loft Insulation?

Everyone knows that heat rises and if you have a no loft insulation in your roof space, up to a quarter of the heat you generate can be lost through the roof of your home.

Insulating your roof space is quick, easy and relatively inexpensive. It is also very effective at reducing heat loss and keeping your home warm.

And because loft insulation can last for over 40 years, it will pay for itself year after year after year.

Free Loft Insulation FAQs

The Affordable Warmth Scheme provides funding for Free Loft Insulation.

Free loft insulation is available to householders if their homes currently have less than 100 mm of loft insulation installed.

The amount of your Loft Insulation Grant is subject to type of home you live in, your heating system and a Free Survey.

Based on an average three bedroom semi-detached house, a contractor should charge between £300 and £400 to install loft insulation in your home but if you do it your self you can expect it to cost around half of that.

If you currently have no loft insulation at all, you can expect to cut your heating bills by around £180 per year. If you have 100 mm of loft insulation and you increase this to 300 mm, you should save around £25 per year.

HHCRO is the Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation but is more commonly referred to as the Affordable Warmth Scheme

The Affordable Warmth Scheme provides funding for Boiler Grants, Storage Heater Grants, Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation.
